Wiktoria and Mateusz are a pair of thirty-somethings living in Warsaw, totally devoted to their work in reputable companies in the capital. They have been together for two years, live in an elegant apartment building and earn very well. However, this is at the expense of their life together – they spend many hours at work and function almost like robots. Unexpectedly, they both receive an order to quarantine for 14 days due to a suspicion of contact with a person infected with Covid-19. The initial euphoria caused by the suddenly given holiday in the middle of the year quickly turns into the monotony of everyday being together, to which they have not been used so far. They fill the first days of their quarantine with meaningless activities and Internet shopping. To their horror, they also discover that they have nothing to talk to each other about. An innocent childish game, which they arrange out of boredom, causes Victoria to have a panic attack. When she recovers, she reveals to Matthew that six months earlier she lost her job because of the pandemic, and to make matters worse, for those six months she has lied to her partner that she was still working, going out to her company every day. This is the first moment that turns the couple’s relationship into a slow-moving train-wreck. It soon turns out that Mateusz is not working either, because the pandemic has also brought his company to the brink of bankruptcy. But he also lied to Wiktoria, dragging her into the game of keeping up appearances. After a few days in quarantine, the couple finally starts talking to each other and from then on – every day – more and more lies come to light, the lies on which their relationship was in fact built. Each of them has even invented their own past in order to impress the other. The illusion of success bursts like a soap bubble. Wiktoria and Mateusz finally realize that they have no money to live on, no way to pay the rent for their luxurious flat, and the pile of cardboard boxes stacked in their flat, filled with goods they didn't need, which they recklessly bought on special offers, makes them realize the horror of their situation. Even more painful is the awareness that they did not really know anything about each other. In the end, Wictoria admits that even the quarantine notice was made up by her because she no longer had the strength to pretend that everything was fine.

The only thing left for them in this situation is to commit suicide. However, they are clearly not ready to do so. The play does not reveal whether the couple will ultimately commit suicide or not. The last scene brings a glimmer of hope. During the quarantine, Wiktoria and Mateusz have reevaluated their relationship to the core, and because of this – paradoxically – they feel much more connected to each other. Perhaps this will allow them to survive.
